Mechanical & Hardware Manager

Job Summary

Quantum Surgical is looking for a Mechanical & Hardware Manager to join a team of creative and energetic engineers who are building the next generation of smart tools for minimally invasive therapies.

The Mechanical & Hardware Manager is responsible for the leadership of a mechanical engineering team working on the design of an advanced robotized platform intended to operate patients worldwide.

He/she brings a mid-term and long-term vision to the mechanical engineering team and the management, to ensure the continuous improvement of design quality and product functionalities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and support mechanical engineering team.
  • Work with mechanical engineers to assess tasks and track progress.
  • Manage the quality of the mechanical design deliverables including the review of technical specifications, design documentation and test reports that support mechanical designs.
  • Ensure team productivity and continuous improvement.
  • Assist in project planning with project managers.
  • Provide technical mentoring, assist in career development, coordinate training, create and deliver performance reviews.
  • Management of subcontractors (industrial design, testing laboratories, manufacturing…).
  • Define and assess team goals.
  • Work with Quality & Regulatory Affairs to ensure product compliance.

Experiences and Qualifications

  • MS in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
  • 8+ years of experience in mechanics.
  • 5+ years of experience in team management.
  • Experience within CE, FDA regulated environment.
  • Experience in IEC 60601 certification of medical equipment.
  • Experience in biocompatibility (ISO 10993).
  • Experience in mechanical design.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and build relationships with internal/external stakeholders.
  • Excellent organization and communication skills.
  • Strong team player.

Desired Experience

  • Experience in sterilization (ISO 17665)
