Robotic SW Engineer

Job Summary

Quantum Surgical is looking for a Robotic Software Engineer to join a team of creative and energetic engineers who are building the next generation of smart tools for minimally invasive therapies.

The Robotic Software Engineer will play a key role in the design and development of an integrated robotized platform for medical applications. He/she will work closely with the other Engineering team members to design, implement and test robot control software solutions based on clinical, user and safety requirements.

The candidate should have demonstrated experience with early stage product development, real-time robotic control software and communication interfaces, sensors integration, safety mechanisms, logging and reporting infrastructures.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work with software, mechanical, system & clinical engineers to develop a robust and reliable robotic control software for medical applications
  • Create specifications and requirements based on design inputs
  • Architecture, design and implement C++/Java applications
  • Perform testing and validation of selected solutions
  • Participate in design discussions and code review
  • Support the Quality team for the analysis & treatment of observed issues
  • Work closely with company‚Äôs partners, employees, and consultants

Experiences and Qualifications

  • MS or PhD in Robotics, Computer Science or equivalent
  • 5+ years of experience implementing robotics or capital equipment SW solutions
  • Strong C++ and object-oriented programming skills
  • Experience with real-time software applications
  • Experience with standard C++ libraries
  • Experience with unit testing and SW verification and validation
  • Experience with source code control and code review
  • Excellent communication and documentation skills
  • Self-motivated, curious and open-minded

Desired Experience

  • Familiarity with design controls in an FDA regulated environment
  • Experience with collaborative robots
  • Experience with Agile software development methodology
