Test Engineer

Job Summary

Quantum Surgical is looking for a Test Engineer to join a team of creative and energetic engineers who are building the next generation of smart tools for minimally invasive therapies.

The Test Engineer is responsible for verifying software and hardware of an integrated robotized platform for medical applications. He/she will design, write and execute verification test procedures, record objective evidence of observed results, raise defects, provide status updates, install, calibrate and use test equipment.

The candidate should have demonstrated experience in a tester role for the verification of complex systems within a regulated environment, especially with products including software and mechanical/electronic components.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work closely with software, mechanical & system engineers to help ensuring the product safety and effectiveness
  • Review product requirements for testability and participate in design discussions
  • Prepare and review test plans and test reports
  • Design, write, review, update and execute acceptance and formal verification test protocols
  • Design, review, install, calibrate and use test-related equipment
  • Raise observed defects through the Quality Management System
  • Support the Quality team for the analysis & treatment of observed issues

Experiences and Qualifications

  • BS or MS in Engineering/Science or equivalent
  • 3 years of experience as a test engineer, testing mechatronic systems and writing/executing test protocols in a regulated industry
  • Familiar with defect tracking and test case management tools
  • Knowledge of software development lifecycle and software test methods/tools
  • Problem-solving mindset
  • Detail oriented and meticulous
  • Strong belief in quality compliance
  • Proficient in written English

Desired Experience

  • ISTQB Certified (Foundation) or equivalent
  • Experience with medical device testing
  • Experience with Agile software development methodology
  • Coding and scripting skills
  • Familiar with sampling plans and statistical methods
